Ying’s questions

  1.  How should we justify Charlotte’s death? Is leaving her children alone and dying for saving Wilbur friendship and loyalty? In other words, is one’s friend more important than one’s children?
  2. If we say the moral of the story include the theme of inevitable death, can I say that because Wilbur struggles to understand this theme about life, his friend charlotte died for him?

    Hi Ying,
These are truly fascinating questions that complicate the question of death in White’s book; thank you for them! CH
